Dock & Slip Manager

Accessibility

Last checked Oct 1, 2026

Dock & Slip Manager should work for everybody who runs a marina or keeps a boat at one, on whatever they use: a phone on the dock, a laptop in the office, a screen reader, a keyboard, or text made larger. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we've done

  • Every page works with a keyboard, shows where you are with a clear outline, and has a link to skip straight to its content.
  • Text and buttons are checked for contrast, in the day look and the night look.
  • Colour is never the only way something is shown. On the dock map every boat carries a mark as well as a colour, every slip is labelled, and the same slips are listed underneath in words. Every chart has its figures in a table underneath.
  • Pictures that say something have a text description; pictures that are only there to look nice are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms label every field, and say in words what went wrong.
  • Pages fit a phone's screen, work zoomed to twice the size, and move less when your device asks for less motion.

What we know isn't right yet

  • The dock map is a drawing: with a screen reader, the list of slips under it is the quicker way to the same information.
  • A photo a marina adds is described by the caption the marina gives it, and some have none.
  • Paying online, and signing in with Google or Facebook, happen on Stripe's, Google's and Facebook's own pages, which are theirs to make accessible.

Tell us

If something is hard to use, or doesn't work with what you use, tell the marina you deal with, who will pass it on. Say which page, and what happened, and we'll put it right, or find you another way to do what you needed in the meantime.
