Terms
Last updated Oct 9, 2026
These are the terms for using Dock & Slip Manager, which is run by Dex Tech Apps. By signing in or using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over, and able to agree to these terms. If you sign a marina up, you agree to them for the marina, and say you may. A marina's staff logins are made by the marina, for its own people.
What the app is
Software for marinas to run their docks - slips, stays, bills, payments and messages - and for boat owners to see their bills and ask marinas for a place to tie up.
Your login
Keep your password to yourself; what is done with your login is your responsibility. Keep your details accurate. Tell us or your marina straight away if you think somebody else has used your login.
Marinas and their customers
A marina using the app is responsible for its own dealings with its customers: its prices, its contracts, its bills, and following the law, including any notices it must give. The app helps keep track of these things; it is not legal advice. A booking or a slip is agreed between the boat owner and the marina, not with Dex Tech Apps.
Using it fairly
Do not use the app to break the law, to send messages people have not agreed to, to get into anything that is not yours, or to interfere with how it works. We may suspend a login that does.
What you put in
Photos, logos and words you add to the app stay yours. Add only what you have the right to use. You let Dex Tech Apps keep them and show them where you put them - a marina's own photos on its page and in the directory, for instance - only to run the app. Take one off and it is gone from the app.
Your information
A marina's records are the marina's, and it can download them at any time. How information is kept and used is described in the privacy policy.
Paying online
A marina can connect its own Stripe account and let its customers pay their bills online, by card or from a bank account, and by autopay. A payment is made to the marina, through Stripe, under Stripe's own terms, which the marina accepts when it connects. Refunds, disputes and anything else about the money itself are between the customer and their marina. The app records what Stripe reports; it never holds the money, or anybody's card or bank details.
Deposits for a stay
At a marina that takes cards online, a request for a stay comes with a deposit: the amount the marina asks for, shown before the request is sent, held on the boater's card. Nothing is taken unless the marina accepts. If it does, the deposit is taken, goes toward the stay, and is not refunded if the boat does not come. If the marina declines, or does not answer in time, the hold is released and nothing is taken. If the marina itself calls an accepted stay off, what was paid online for it is given back. The rest of a stay can be paid at the dock, or online.
The fuel dock, the store and tabs
A marina can sell fuel and store items through the app, paid there and then or put on a boat's tab, and billed as the marina's own tab rules say. Prices, taxes, what can go on a tab and when it is billed are the marina's to set, and anything for 21 and over is sold only after the marina checks ID. A boater who puts something on their own tab - from a code on the item, or in the portal - is buying it, and agrees to pay for it with the rest of their tab.
Cost
A marina pays a monthly price for the app, by its level and its number of slips, as shown in its Settings, under Your plan, before anything is charged. A level may include a share of the marina's fuel and store sales, before tax. A paid feature a marina switches on outside its level is free for a trial the first time, then stays on at the monthly price shown when it was switched on, until the marina switches it off; its administrators are told before the trial ends. Every fee Dex Tech Apps earned through the marina's own online payments since its last charge comes off, down to nothing, and a month's level and add-ons can be free when enough ran through the app, the share of sales still being due. A new marina has a free period first. Where a marina takes payments online, Dex Tech Apps may take a share of each payment, which Stripe deducts from the marina's side; the marina's Settings always show what it is.
A marina can stop its plan at any time, from Settings. It runs to the end of the month it is stopped in, that month is charged as usual, and nothing is charged after. There are no refunds for part of a month; our own mistakes are refunded in full. The details are on the refunds and stopping page.
Boaters pay the amount on their bill and nothing more, except on a visiting stay paid through the app - the deposit, and the rest if they pay it online - where a booking service fee is added on top, shown before they pay. It keeps the app low-cost for marinas.
Texts
A marina texts you only about what you said yes to: your account, reminders, or its news. Message and data rates may apply, and how many texts you get depends on what happens at your marina. Reply STOP to any of them to stop, and HELP for help. Your mobile carrier is not responsible for texts that are late or never arrive.
No guarantees
We work to keep the app running, correct and backed up, but it is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of mistakes. Check anything important - an amount, a date - before relying on it.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, Dex Tech Apps is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data arising from use of the app, and its total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending
You can stop using the app at any time. A marina can download its records whenever it likes, and for 90 days after its plan ends; then the marina and everything in it are deleted. A boat owner can close their login from My login; a marina that has them on its books is asked to forget them at the same time, and keeps only what the law says it must.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Dex Tech Apps is based, United States.
Changes and questions
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and significant changes will be told to you before they take effect. Questions: ask the marina you deal with.
